Grammy-Nominated Rock Band RED’s New Album “GONE” Available Now

Band Releases Both a Standard and Digital Deluxe Version of New Album

NASHVILLE, TENN. – GRAMMY-nominated rock band RED‘s sixth studio album Gone is available now everywhere. True to the band’s discography, the new project continues RED’s honest exploration of darker themes and deep human struggles, with epic musical soundscapes that are raw, melodic, intense and emotional, all at the same time. The debut single off of Gone, “Still Alive,” continues to be featured on prominent playlists such as Apple Music’s A-List: Hard Rock, Filtr’s Today We Rock on Spotify, Amazon’s Fresh Rock and Google Play’s Today’s Heavy Rock as well as in the Top 40 on the Active Rock chart.

Gone’s 17 tracks (on the deluxe edition – 10 tracks on the standard), a richly textured and powerfully felt musical narrative, is the band responding to those same questions we all ask. With songs that explore Ecclesiastes-like questions such as, “What is the meaning of life?” and “What is my legacy when I’m GONE?” RED draws additional creative inspiration using “Artificial Intelligence” (A.I.) as a metaphor for the human experience, similar to the sorts of themes featured on HBO’s hit series Westworld. Having been together for more than a decade, these themes have special meaning for the band as lead singer Michael Barnes, and identical twins Anthony Armstrong and Randy Armstrong, contemplate their own careers in music and their existence as a band.

“We have had countless conversations with fans over the last 11 years touring, and people share their hearts with us,” RED‘s bass player Randy says. “They share their insecurities, their fears. Having a faith and the background we do, we carry those things with us no matter what kind of questions we ask ourselves because our music has that redemptive side. We find our way out of the darkness.”

Selling nearly 2 million albums with stream and track equivalents, and two Top 10 Active Rock singles, RED is a career rock band with a strong emotional connection with fans. RED is currently on the road with 10 Years and special guest Otherwise. See the remaining tour dates below.

RED’s Michael Barnes runs Country Music Marathon for CURE program

Think training for a marathon is hard? Try doing it while on a nationwide tour. That’s just what rock band RED’s frontman Michael Barnes is doing.

RED is getting ready to headline its own tour. And when Barnes isn’t on stage, he’s lacing up his sneakers for a good cause. The singer is participating in the CURE Champion Program by running the Country Music Marathon in Nashville in April. The CURE program allows participants to meet personal fitness goals while raising money for surgeries for children in emerging countries.

CURE is a non-profit organization that operates hospitals and programs in 27 countries to provide medical care regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.

Barnes, who has a degree in nursing, visited a CURE hospital in Ethopia to meet the children in need of the medical care. He offers club foot or cleft palate as examples of problems that need to be corrected.

“To see these kids’ lives change in front of your lives, it was just an amazing experience,” he says. “It’s like one guy that’s from the states and he’s sacrificing his time and his efforts. People donate money and it goes so that guy (or another doctor in one of CURE’s 13 hospitals) can do the surgery. It’s a way to really make a difference in someone’s life.”

New Album RELEASE THE PANIC Sells Nearly 100,000 Copies In First Month of Release

Band Confirms WELCOME TO ROCKVILLE and ROCK ON THE RANGE Festival Performances

After performing for more than half a million people during the Winter Jam tour, the two-time GRAMMY-nominated rock group RED, will kick off a U.S. trek April 16 in Grand Rapids, MI with We As Human and Southbound Fearing supporting (see dates below, more coming soon). The Nashville-based group will also make two festival appearances: Sunday, April 28 at “Welcome to Rockville” in Jacksonville, FL and on Sunday, May 19 at “Rock On The Range” in Columbus, Ohio. Starting today, fans can purchase VIP upgrades for the spring trek which includes a meet & greet and acoustic performances on the band’s tour bus, as well as an exclusive signed tour poster and VIP laminate. For more information, visit: www.redmusiconline.com.

The touring news comes on the heels of the group’s fourth album RELEASE THE PANIC (Essential/Provident/Sony) which has already sold nearly 100,000 copies in just over a month and marked the group’s second Top Ten album debut on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. The hard-driving first single “Perfect Life”–which Revolver magazine declared “an anthemic heart-pounder…” (February 2013) and ArtistDirect said carries “a massive stadium-size refrain into crossover territory”–has reached #25 at Active Rock radio this week, continuing to gain in the key 18-35 year-old demographic. Watch the clip for “Perfect Life” here: http://www.vevo.com/watch/red/perfect-life/USV3M1300005

Release The Panic is gaining critical mass as RED’s best effort to date. In a four-out-of-five star CD review, Revolver magazine noted that Release the Panic should catapult RED to the high ranks of today’s top radio-rock acts, a destination they rightfully should have reached years ago” (February 2013). Rick Florino of ArtistDirect raved how “RED continue to craft heavy, hypnotic, and heartfelt heard rock on their fourth full-length album. Release the Panic expands upon their patent sound with a more immense and immersive scope. …All said and done, it’s one of the most epic, entrancing, and engaging hard rock albums of 2013 and RED’s best work yet (February 4, 2013). Elsewhere, Mind Equals Blown called out their “…excellent balladry and swift hooks. ‘Hold Me Now’ is not only one of the record’s strongest cuts, but it should stand as one of Red’s top soft songs to date.” (February 11, 2013) HM Magazine added in a four-out-of-five star review, “Heavy-hitting tracks like ‘Damage’ and the title track–which are some of the hardest songs RED has written-will please any headbanger while ‘Hold Me Now’ and ‘So Far Away’ are the melodic ballads that will move your heart. ‘Perfect Life’ and ‘Die for You’ are quality rock songs sure to garner mainstream radio play” (February 2013).

To record RELEASE THE PANIC, the group–Michael Barnes (vocals), Anthony Armstrong (guitar) Randy Armstrong (bass) and Joe Rickard (drums)–teamed with producer Howard Benson (P.O.D., My Chemical Romance, Daughtry) at his brand-new West Valley Studios in Los Angeles. RED have delivered a potent set of standout songs that were mixed by Benson and Mike Plotnikoff including “Perfect Life,” “Die For You,” “Release the Panic” and “Same Disease.”
