Jason McArthur served as a record label executive and songwriter at Sony Music Entertainment’s Provident Entertainment in Nashville for more than 23 years, holding the title of Vice President of Artists & Repertoire (A&R). In this role, he signed, developed and oversaw the careers of some of the most successful, dynamic and influential artists in the faith-based genre.
With credits in a wide variety of musical styles, including pop, rock, hip hop, R&B, country, and children’s music, Jason has worked with many Grammy- and Dove-Award winning artists including Casting Crowns, Tauren Wells, Michael W. Smith, hip hop artist KB, alt-rock band RED, Royal Tailor, Joy Williams (formerly of The Civil Wars), Brian Littrell (of Backstreet Boys), Rebecca St. James, Leeland and NewSong, to name a few. Jason has numerous platinum, multi-platinum and gold-certified albums and singles under his oversight, and his projects worldwide have sold or streamed more than 25 million album-equivalent units.
Jason also is a 3-time Dove Award winning songwriter and executive producer, including Tauren Wells’ Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year Citizen of Heaven. Jason continues to Executive Produce select projects for record labels and independent artists.
Jason received his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics (emphasis in Economics) from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992, and his Master’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Abilene Christian University in 1996.
