Tauren Wells is the former lead singer of Grammy-nominated pop rock sensation Royal Tailor. After the band earned Grammy nominations for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album on each of its two Essential Records albums: Black & White (2011) and the self-titled sophomore project Royal Tailor (2013), Tauren felt God was calling him in a new direction. Now a solo artist, Tauren is pioneering new sounds in music as an artist, songwriter, entrepreneur, and minister/speaker. With the launch of his GRAMMY-nominated debut solo album Hills and Valleys (2017), Tauren toured in July 2017 as the opening act on Lionel Richie’s All The Hits Tour with very special guest Mariah Carey. The songs “Hills and Valleys,” “When We Pray” and “Known” from the project each have impacted at radio with infectious pop, R&B, urban, funk and gospel sounds. Tauren’s sophomore album Citizen of Heaven (2020) broke new territory, winning the 2020 GMA Dove Award for Contemporary Christian Album of the Year, and earning Tauren the 2020 GMA Dove Award for Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year. Tauren has released collaborations with artists in multiple musical genres, including H.E.R., Rascal Flatts, Jimmie Allen, Crowder, Jekalyn Carr, Elevation Worship, and more.
